With the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an advanced high-quality seeds center is being established.
The project will be implemented in 2026 on the basis of the Kazakh Research Institute of Plant Protection and Quarantine named after Zh. Zhiembayev.
The center will be equipped with modern equipment and staffed with highly qualified specialists. Its main task is to combat pathogens that threaten productivity and environmental safety.
The center will establish close cooperation with seed farms and analyze samples of various crop seeds. The main goal of the project is to increase the share of domestic seeds to 80% by 2030.
The use of innovative methods of phytoexamination and seed improvement will not only increase productivity, but also ensure crop safety. According to experts, seed improvement is a key factor in the fight against plant diseases, since 70% of them are spread through seeds. It is expected that as a result of the work of the center, the productivity of agricultural crops will increase by at least 40%.
