"Alatau" Traditional Art Theater participates in Chekhov Festival

The Alatau Traditional Arts Theater has received a ticket to one of the prestigious competitions in the theater world - the Chekhov Festival. There, the creative team will stage the play “Mamluk. Sultan Beibarys” in the sound drama genre. This was announced by the theater director Maksat Nuraliev at a briefing of the Regional Communications Service.
“For our theater, it is a great success to present Kazakh theater art at such an important event. I am pleased to announce that “Mamluk. "I am proud of our talented actors, directors, musicians, and the entire production team who put their souls into the play "Sultan Beibarys", - said Maksat Nuraliev.
Also, the theater troupe may be invited to the Avignon Festival in France with the premiere performance "Altybakan". It is worth noting that the "Alatau" theater has been actively developing work in the direction of international relations in recent years. In 2024, the theater artists performed in China, and also studied at leading foreign cultural centers with the support of the Almaty akimat.
This year, the theater will present new performances dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Nurgisa Tlendiev and the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayuly, glorifying the life and work of historical figures.
