Kanat Sharlapayev met with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

The Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapayev met with the representative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Hussein Ozhan.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is an investment mechanism designed to support a market economy, established in 1991 on the basis of 40 countries and two international organizations. The EBRD maintains a regular dialogue with governments, state bodies, international financial organizations and representatives of society and provides technical assistance in the use of funds provided by the bank's shareholders.
During the meeting, the implementation of projects for the modernization of sewage treatment plants in the cities of Aktobe, Karaganda and Taraz and issues of cooperation within the framework of the national project "Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sector" adopted by the Government of Kazakhstan were discussed.
The meeting was attended by Vladislav Galiev, Advisor to the Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alisher Bespayev, Head of the Department of Utilities, Ekaterina Miroshnik, Director of Infrastructure of the EBRD in the Eurasian Region, and Askar Namazbayev, Deputy Head of the EBRD in Kazakhstan.
Following the results of the meeting, EBRD representatives reported on the developed plan for the implementation of the planned projects. The main areas of cooperation within the framework of the national project "Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sector" were agreed upon and the mechanisms of interaction were clarified. EBRD representatives expressed their readiness to support projects to modernize the country's energy and utility sectors and continue close cooperation.
