The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev began working trips to a number of regions of the country in order to assess the progress of the heating season and prepare for the next season.
The first item on the schedule of the minister's working trip was the Turkestan region. In Kentau, a large-scale modernization of CHP-5 was carried out, including the modernization of six of the eight boiler houses and a significant modernization of the heating networks. Thanks to this, it was possible to significantly reduce equipment wear - from 84% to 37% - and significantly reduce the number of technological violations. As a result, the city's residents were provided with stable heat supply, which is confirmed by the absence of complaints from residents.
"Today, Kentau CHP-5 is operating stably and providing the city's residents with heat. I would like to thank the akimat of the Turkestan region for its responsible attitude and effective interaction with energy companies in implementing important projects for the region. The main task is to continue systematic work on the modernization of the country's energy complex in order to provide the population and enterprises with uninterrupted and high-quality energy," noted the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev.
During the visit, CHP-5 was inspected, the results of the modernization work were presented, and plans for preparation for the next heating season, including major and current repairs, were discussed. In particular, the work on the modernization of main heating networks and pumping stations of the Kentau Service State Enterprise was noted. These measures allowed to reduce the wear and tear of heating networks and significantly reduce the number of technological violations (in 2023-2024 - 42 cases, in the current heating season - 5).
In preparation for the new heating season, the Minister of Energy instructed the relevant departments and enterprises to ensure the implementation of all planned repairs, conclude preliminary contracts for the supply of fuel and lubricants, create sufficient supplies of materials, and prepare personnel for emergencies.
At a meeting with the participation of the regional leadership and representatives of energy companies, strategic directions for the development of the country's fuel and energy complex were discussed. In the coming years, it is planned to introduce significant new generating capacities, including renewable energy sources. Particular attention will be paid to the development of shunting power plants. Work will continue on integrating the Western region into the Unified Energy System of Kazakhstan and strengthening the power grid of the southern region. It was also noted that the Ministry of Energy is actively studying international best practices, including in the field of "clean" coal, and is considering the possibility of building coal-fired power plants that meet the most stringent environmental standards.
