Kazakhstan participates in the 13th Conference of Ministers of Culture of the Islamic World within the framework of ICESCO

The 13th Conference of Ministers of Culture of the Islamic World is being held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, within the framework of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).
About 50 member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are participating in the conference. Among them is Kazakhstan, a member of the Committee on Cultural Heritage of the Islamic World. The country was represented at the meeting by Vice Minister of Culture and Information Evgeny Kochetov.
The main goal of the international meeting is to establish a dialogue between civilizations, cultures and religions, to form an objective view of Islamic culture, as well as to promote the values ​​of justice, peace, freedom and human rights.
The heads of delegations spoke at the working session of the conference and proposed initiatives and mechanisms aimed at achieving these goals.
The event was attended by 54 of the 57 member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (ICESCO). The main issue of the conference of ministers of culture is to determine the cultural capital of the Islamic world. In 2025, this prestigious title was awarded to the city of Samarkand in Uzbekistan. The cultural capital of the Islamic world for 2026 will be announced at the 13th conference.
