Karaganda residents are invited to support MMA fighters at the Kazakhstan Championship. The main republican event will be held on February 15-19 at the Serik Sapiyev Boxing Center. Admission is free.
According to the organizers, more than 500 athletes from all regions, Astana, Almaty and Shymkent are expected to participate. Fighters in the 16–17, 18–20 and 21+ age categories will fight for the championship and a place in the national team.
The Karaganda regional team is actively preparing for the republican championship.
- 60 fighters from our region will perform. Among them are world champions and prize-winners, Asian champions. They are determined to win. This is a battle of the strongest, so our opponents are also strong. I think the main competition will be between athletes from Almaty, Aktobe, and Atyrau, who have developed mixed martial arts skills, says Rashid Dagaev, senior MMA coach of the Karaganda region.
Competition schedule:
February 15 - competitions and finals for 16-17 year olds from 11:00 to 18:00.
February 16, 17 - preliminary fights for 18-20 year olds and adults 21 + from 11:00 to 20:00.
February 18 - semi-final fights for 18-20 year olds and adults 21 + from 11:00 to 20:00.
February 19 - final fights for 18-20 year olds and adults 21 +, starting at 10:00.
