The geography of the location of sim-box equipment is expanding. If earlier such devices were mainly confiscated in large cities, now criminals have begun to place them in sparsely populated areas.

In just one day, cyber police units in the cities of Balkhash, Taraz, Ekibastuz and Petropavlovsk, together with the prosecutor's office and mobile operators, seized sim-box equipment carried out measures to expose illegal activities.

Four people were detained during the operation, two of whom are citizens of a neighboring country. During the search, six sim-box devices, more than 24.5 thousand sim-cards and peripheral equipment were confiscated.

The detainees are sentenced to up to 10 years in prison for aiding Internet fraudsters.

A sim-box allows criminals to make fraudulent calls from anywhere in the world. It is enough for the equipment itself to be located in that country and use the traffic of local communication operators.
