Today, the length of bicycle paths in the capital is 77.5 kilometers. As part of this stage, a 47-kilometer bicycle path was built, starting from the Central Park and connecting to the existing bicycle path in the Green Belt along the Karkaraly highway, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
In addition, a road network with a 23-kilometer bicycle path was created in the “Green Belt” territory.
In 2020, the “Cycling Transport Infrastructure” project was developed, which provides for the construction of new bicycle paths. In 2021, 7.5 kilometers of bicycle paths were built as part of this project. They run along Mustafin Street, Abylai Khan Avenue, Kudaiberdiuly and Koshkarbayev Streets, as well as partially along Momyshuly Avenue.
The development of bicycle infrastructure continues, creating favorable conditions for city residents who prefer environmentally friendly transport. In addition, the development of cycling contributes to improving the environment, air quality and reducing traffic congestion.
