The Ministry of Internal Affairs warns of potential risks when making online purchases

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued an appeal to citizens.
During mass discounts and general sales for various holidays, citizens may fall prey to scammers. For example, in February, many countries celebrate "Valentine's Day". On this occasion, people plan to make gifts for their loved ones. In order not to lose money, the Ministry of Internal Affairs recommends following simple rules:
Buy goods only from verified sites or official marketplaces.
Do not be tempted by too low a price. If the discount seems dubious, it may be a scam.
If you come across an "interesting" offer on social networks, check the information about the store or seller. In this case, it is better to pay attention to the reviews left, the number of subscribers and the possibility of paying in installments. However, it is also worth remembering that this is not a guarantee.
Make a video call to the seller to make sure that the product is available. Demand to show the address and location of the store. If these are scammers, they will refuse the demands under various pretexts and send geolocation to convince, but this is a trick of a potential scammer.
Check payment methods. Do not transfer money to personal accounts.
Watch personal data. Never give passwords, SMS codes and card details to strangers.
- Be careful! If you have any doubts, check the information or consult with experts, - said the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
