At a meeting with residents of Zhetysu district, Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dossayev expressed his opinion on residents' complaints regarding the operation of kebab houses in the city.
The mayor said that in March this year, rules for protecting the atmospheric air of Almaty will be introduced to the maslikhat. These rules provide for the installation of hydrofilters and control measures.
“Last year, we launched a similar initiative, which was supported. We are presenting these rules to the maslikhat as part of the changes made to the legislation. If they are adopted, we will have the necessary tools to start real work. As I said earlier, we have no right to interfere in the activities of entrepreneurs without legal grounds. And if the rules are approved, we can work in accordance with them,” said Yerbolat Dossaev.
In turn, a resident of the district suggested replacing the hydrofilters in the kebab houses with gas.
“This is the second stage of the work. The main issue now is to make changes related to the regulation of the activities of kebab houses. We will discuss the issue of switching to gas later. I will involve the district akims in this issue, they will monitor the operation of the filters in these establishments,” the city akim concluded.
