Almaty Akim Yerbolat Dossaev told the public about the work being carried out to modernize power lines and outdoor lighting in the Zhetysu district during a meeting.
Today, 85% of the district's power lines are worn out, which periodically leads to emergency shutdowns. To improve power supply in the district, in 2024, work was completed on the construction of 66 km of new power lines along Kemel street and Palladin-Pavlodar-Boraldai-Kozhamiyarov streets.
In December 2024, reconstruction of 4 km of power lines and construction of the Kirpichnaya substation began. The work will be completed in August 2026.
In June of this year, it is expected that the state expert examination will be issued for the construction of a 1.2 km power supply line for a residential building at 65a Ryskulov Avenue.
In addition, work continues to provide the district with high-quality outdoor lighting. In 2024 alone, 36.7 km of cable lines were replaced and 4,500 new lighting points were installed, which allowed 87% of the district's streets to be illuminated.
In 2025, it is planned to install 337 new lighting poles, replace 26 km of old cable lines and install 1,097 new LED lights.
It should be noted that this year in Almaty it is planned to illuminate 600 previously unlit areas of the city, install 4,500 lighting points and modernize 800 SHUNOs, as well as continue the construction of 136 km of networks.
