AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR DEVELOPS DOMESTIC TOURISM THROUGH GAZ-TECHNOLOGIES
Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Geography, PhD Dr. Nazgul Zhensikbayeva is studying the preservation of the ecosystem of natural and historical and cultural objects using geoinformation technologies. Its main goal is to develop tourism by creating a unified list of sacred places in East Kazakhstan.
Recently, the scientist's author's project won grant funding from the Science Committee of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Now Nazgul Zhensikbayeva has the opportunity to quickly and qualitatively implement her idea, which will allow identifying natural, architectural, historical and cultural monuments, increasing tourist attractiveness and protecting the ecosystem.
- I plan to provide information about new or little-studied tourist attractions of our region using GIS technologies. For example, the geological monument Kiyn-Kerish, the village of Kalguty, the ancient Turkic Balbal stone, unique religious and ritual stones, etc. I plan to collect archival photos and video materials and upload them to a special web resource for Kazakhstanis and foreigners, - said the professor.
According to him, the electronic guidebook will include various monographs, encyclopedias, and digital maps. This will have a positive impact on the recognition of Kazakhstan at the global level and will allow monitoring the state of sacred places and their ecosystems.
Currently, the author of the project has compiled cartographic collections of Southern Altai and developed tourist routes.
