Police officers and the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs gathered in Karaganda, who showed professionalism, courage and bravery in saving people. Every year, on the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the republican action “Kazirgi Zaman Kaharmandary” takes place in different regions, the purpose of which is to show examples of real patriotism of contemporaries. It is dedicated to the feat of “Halyk kaharmany” Gaziz Baitasov, a policeman from Taraz who died while detaining a terrorist.
The participants of the action laid flowers at the memorial of the fallen police officers. Then a round table was held at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after B. Beisenov.
The heroes of our time met with schoolchildren at the lessons of courage. It is worth noting that there are more than a hundred cadet classes “Zhas Sakhi” in the country, which are designed to educate the younger generation. These classes are named after fallen police heroes.
The action ended with a solemn event at the Palace of Culture of Miners, at which each of the heroes was presented with awards.
— Today we are gathered here to pay tribute to those who, with their courage, honor and dedication, daily strengthen trust in the strength and justice of our state. Each of you is a hero, a true defender, on whose shoulders lies the safety on the streets, the tranquility of our residents. You are the living embodiment of what a modern police should be: resolute, honest, loyal to the people and the country," said Akim of the Karaganda region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev.
The Minister of Internal Affairs declared 2024 the Year of increasing human Resources in the internal affairs bodies. The campaign “Kazirgi zaman kaharmandary” is a continuation of a large-scale campaign.
— Its purpose is not only to remember the exploits of police officers, but also to promote the true values of service to society. Every day, more than 10 thousand police officers go out in outfits. They are responsible for ensuring public safety, compliance with the law and the rule of law. They face various dangerous situations on a daily basis, where in stressful conditions it is necessary to make quick decisions, sometimes risking their lives, because a person's life is at stake," said Shyngys Alekeshev, Head of the Information Policy Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
15 policemen and guards took the stage, who have already been awarded state and departmental awards for their heroic deeds.
Denis Shemet, risking his own life, covered a conscript soldier with himself during the exercises and saved him from a grenade explosion. By decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he was awarded the Order of “Aybin".
Patrol police inspector Burkut Alshynbayev, sacrificing himself, prevented a collision between a bus with children and a truck.
District police inspector Damir Kurganbayev rescued people from a burning house. There were also several people at the meeting who rushed into the water to help drowning children.
The relatives of the police officers who died in the service were also present in the hall. Adilzhan Baitasov— the youngest son of a national hero, arrived. They were also presented with memorable gifts.
In total, during the years of independence, 819 law enforcement officers died in the performance of their official duties in the country.
