The presentation of the two-volume collection of Gerold Belger was held in Astana
16.11.2024 18:57:29 1628The presentation of the two-volume collection "Favorites" dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the outstanding translator, writer and publicist Gerold Belger took place at the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by cultural and public sector figures, literary critics and translators, as well as representatives of the Russian diplomatic corps.
Chairman of the Committee of Archives, Documentation and Book Business of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rustam Ali read out a congratulatory letter from Minister Aida Balayeva.
In her congratulation, the Minister noted that Herald Belger's devoted service in popularizing Kazakh literature and culture, as well as his multi-valued legacy, are an important asset for future generations.
"This collection was published within the framework of the state program "Publication and dissemination of socially significant literature", coordinated by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and will be distributed in libraries of our country. In addition, this year more than a hundred spiritual events dedicated to a unique personality are widely held throughout the country. By the end of the year, in honor of the 90th anniversary of Herald Belger, 32 events are planned that will be presented to a wide audience. The Ministry is actively working to popularize the writer's work and life path," the congratulatory letter says.
The writer's daughter Irina Kovaleva-Belger took part in the presentation online and shared her thoughts on the events dedicated to the anniversary.
"A lot of events in different cities of Kazakhstan have already taken place and continue to take place within the framework of the 90th anniversary of Herald Belger. One of the significant events was the release of a two-volume collection. The first volume contains his best stories and works. The second volume is dedicated to the people dear to his heart, with whom he lived his life, whose talent he highly appreciated. We are immensely grateful for the interest in his work and fate," said Irina Kovaleva–Belger.
Gerold Belger's new two-volume "Favorites" includes more than 140 of his works and translations, and each volume was published in an edition of 3,000 copies.
