In November of this year, the construction of the first container hub on the coast of the Caspian Sea began in Mangystau region, which will increase the capacity of the Aktau port to 240 thousand TEU per year. The project is being implemented by the Port of Lianyungang Group of Companies together with the Aktau Commercial Sea Port.

This project will enhance the country's position in the international logistics system and expand the potential of the transport and logistics sector.

The implementation of the hub will increase the transportation of containers in the Trans-Caspian direction through Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and reorient part of the transit cargo going from China to Europe.

Land management work is currently underway. More than 20 units of special equipment are involved in the facility.

It should be noted that to date, the indicator for container traffic through seaports has increased by 84% and amounted to 58 thousand TEU, while the growth of container traffic along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM) is 2.7 times.

It is planned to complete these works in mid-2025.
