For 10 months of 2024, 6.2 million tons of cargo were transported through the seaports of Kazakhstan

Compared to last year, the volume of transportation by sea increased by 3%, including transit cargo transportation by 18%. There is an increase in the processing of cargo vehicles through the Kuryk ferry complex by 22%. The volume of container traffic in the East-West transit route increased by 84%, including about 27 thousand containers passing through the port of Aktau.
Also this year, the Sarzha terminal of the Kuryk port during this period processed about 55 thousand tons of cargo (non-ferrous metals, ammophos, barley) in the direction of Turkey and Iran. In addition, 153 oversized cargo was transported from the Yersai sea terminal of the Kuryk port in transit from Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan through Kazakhstan in 2024.
It should be noted that in October this year, another grain terminal with a capacity of 1 million tons per year was put into operation in the Port of Kuryk. In addition, within the framework of the instructions of the head of state, work is actively underway to create a full-fledged logistics cluster based on the Kuryk port.
