The branch of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP for Zhezkazgantsvetmet has been officially renamed into Zhezkazgantsvetmet named after K.I. Satpayev.
This historic step is intended to perpetuate the contribution to science of the outstanding scientist and pioneer of Kazakh geology Kanysh Satpayev, who turned 125 this year.
Kanysh Imantayevich Satpayev made a huge contribution to the development of the mining and metallurgical industry in Kazakhstan.
The renaming of the branch is not only a tribute to the memory of the great scientist, but also recognition of his contribution to the industrial and social development of Kazakhstan.
