The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan presents the achievements of digitalization of higher education at the Profit Education Day conference
On November 15, 2024, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MNE RK) took part in the Profit Education Day conference, presenting current initiatives and projects in the field of digitalization of higher education. Nursultan Mahatov, Director of the Department of Digitalization and Public Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, spoke about the achievements and plans of the Ministry aimed at modernizing the educational system using the latest digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
One of the central topics of the presentation was the introduction of the Unified Higher Education Platform (EHEA), designed to collect, analyze and share data on students, teaching staff and educational programs. The EHEA platform provides wide access to digital services, including online filing of documents, university enrollment, registration of dormitories and scholarships, which makes the higher education system more accessible and transparent.
The Ministry is also actively developing partnerships with international companies to support innovations, such as Google's Generative AI Courses, Nvidia's DLI University Ambassador Program, and Huawei ICT Academy.
An important milestone in the development of Kazakhstan's digital infrastructure was the launch of the Kaz-LLM national language model, which supports the Kazakh language, and the PARAM BILIM supercomputer, designed to solve problems in the field of AI and machine learning. Also, within the framework of the "Crypto School" project from Binance Academy, students have the opportunity to study the basic principles of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, which opens up new career opportunities for them in a promising digital economy.
