Karaganda resident Alan Kurmangaliev took the third place at the international WTT Youth Contender Lignano 2024 tournament in Lignano (Italy).
In the 17-year-old age category, he defeated Frenchman Thomas Laroche, Spaniards Fontana Aniola, Francesca Carrera, Czechs Martina Ratazhsky, Martin Weigl, and in the semifinals lost to Nathan Pilard (France) 2:3.
The athlete is coached by Elmira Aliyeva.
Recall that recently the Karaganda resident became a two–time winner of the table tennis tournament in Hungary - he won silver and bronze.
