The IX Republican WorldSkills Kazakhstan-2024 Championship, organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was attended by the Ministers of Labor and Social Protection, Industry and Construction, energy, digital development, innovation and aerospace industry.

Members of the Government met with the participants — future specialists who will form the qualitative human resources potential of the country's economy. This is an important step in strengthening cooperation between line ministries to build an integrated approach to the training of highly qualified specialists.

As the Minister of Education Gani Beisembayev noted, the international standards of WorldSkills have already been integrated into the curricula of technical and vocational education. This is an important step in the training of highly qualified specialists who are able to compete internationally.

"The Head of State declared 2025 the Year of Working Professions and stressed the key role of the transformation of technical and vocational education in the economic development of the country. By developing the WorldSkills system, we continue to strengthen our position in the international arena. WorldSkills is not only a prestigious competition, but also an important platform for improving professional skills, which helps to raise the status of working professions and draw attention to the importance of skilled labor. Participation in such competitions plays an important role in the formation of human resources necessary for sustainable economic growth and technological progress of our country. By interacting with industry ministries, we create conditions for training in—demand specialists and their further employment, which contributes to the development of key sectors of the economy and increasing their competitiveness," the minister said.

Recall that more than 550 college students and 558 experts participate in the national championship. They compete in 30 competencies covering key sectors of the economy: construction and construction technologies, creative design, information and communication technologies, transport services, social and private services, as well as manufacturing and engineering technologies.

It should be noted that more than 12 thousand people have visited the championship since the first day. It takes place at the EXPO International Exhibition Center. The closing ceremony and awarding of the winners will be held on November 18.

The winners of the republican stage will represent the country at the international EuroSkills 2025 championship, which will be held in Denmark from September 9 to 13 next year.

For reference: The global WorldSkills movement unites 89 countries striving to improve professional competencies and skills. Kazakhstan has been a full member of the WorldSkills International Movement since 2014 and a member of WorldSkills Europe since 2016. Over the 10 years of the WorldSkills movement's existence, about 200 regional and 8 republican championships in 30 competencies have been held in Kazakhstan.
This year, our national team achieved outstanding results at the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 World Championship, winning 6 medals of distinction and an award in the nomination "Best in the Nation" among 69 participating countries.
