On November 18, 2024, an auction on renewable energy for the Northern Zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held to select wind farm projects with a total installed capacity of 100 MW.
7 companies were allowed to participate in the auction, and 34 price offers were submitted by the participants during the trading session. The total volume of applications submitted amounted to 600 MW. The maximum auction price during the auction for the selection of wind farm projects in 2024 was 22.68 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT).
During the trading session, the price range of bids received from auction participants ranged from 22.68 to 11.83 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT).
According to the results of the auction, the company was determined the winner:
Kaindy Energy LLP, the installed capacity of the project is 100 MW, the auction price is 11.83 tg/kWh (excluding VAT). The project is planned to be placed in Kostanay region.
In order to comply with the requirements of the Rules for organizing and conducting auctions, representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, NCE RK "Atameken", the Asian Development Bank and USAID participated as observers.
Observers note the full transparency of the electronic trading system of the auction organizer, KOREM JSC.

The next auction is scheduled for November 19, 2024 for the selection of WPP projects for the Southern zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a total installed capacity of 100 MW.
The organizer of the auction is JSC "Kazakhstan Operator of the electric energy and capacity market".
