On behalf of the Head of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Education, together with the Ministry of Health, organized monitoring of school canteens of the country for compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements. The head of the relevant department, Gani Beisembayev, spoke about the results of the republican monitoring.
As the Minister noted, the monitoring results raise questions about the quality of school meals and indicate insufficient control by local executive bodies, which is confirmed by violations of legal requirements. Thus, the monitoring group identified 771 violations of legal requirements.
Along with this, the Ministry conducted a comprehensive assessment of the organization of school meals. It took into account the results of the monitoring of the quality of food, the material and technical equipment of canteens, the cost of meals in the regions per 1 student, and the results of a survey of parents. Thus, akimats of Zhambyl, Mangystau, Almaty, Atyrau regions and Shymkent do not pay due attention to the organization of high-quality meals in schools.
"Currently, the Ministry is working on the issue of introducing administrative liability of officials for violating the requirements of supplier selection in the procurement of school meals," Gani Beisembayev concluded.
Earlier, the Ministry strengthened the requirements and revised 7 normative legal acts for catering in educational institutions.
