QYZPU celebrated its 80th anniversary
The 80th anniversary of the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University was celebrated in Almaty. In honor of the anniversary, the university hosted the international forum "Educated girls — an educated nation". During the forum, outstanding personalities who have contributed to education and science, as well as graduates and teachers of the university were awarded.
As part of the anniversary, a landmark event in the history of the university took place — the grand opening of a new academic building. The honorary right to cut the red ribbon in honor of the opening of the new building was granted to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, University graduate Orynsha Karabalina and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University Omarkhan Oksikbayev.
Minister Sayasat Nurbek thanked the university faculty for their contribution to science and education and presented awards. The head of the department emphasized that the university is not only an educational center, but also an important center for popularization and transfer of national values to society. In his speech, the Minister noted the 80-year history of the Pedagogical University, noting that during this time, graduates who graduated from the educational institution have been fruitfully working in teaching, community service, as well as in the fields of art and culture in all corners of the country. The achievements of the university and its contribution to society underline its special role in the national education system.
The opening ceremony of an Interdisciplinary Scientific Laboratory was also held at the University. The solemn event was attended by Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Mukhametkali Matayev and Chairman of the Board of Directors Omarkhan Oksikbayev. "The University not only trains young specialists, but also actively develops science. In educational laboratories, 30% of the time is devoted to methodological training, and 70% to scientific experimental experience. I am sure that thanks to the experience of scientists working in these laboratories, scientific discoveries will be made in our country. The University contributes not only to the training of teachers, but also to the development of science," Omarkhan Oksikbayev said.
The interdisciplinary scientific laboratory is focused on conducting fundamental and applied research in the fields of chemistry-biology-physics. It is planned to cover other areas in the future. The center is equipped with modern equipment for conducting research in various fields. The center has various laboratories: laboratory of spectral analysis, laboratory of X-ray phase analysis, laboratory of synthesis of new materials, laboratory of quantum magnetometric research, laboratory of electronic structure research, laboratory of chemistry of natural compounds, laboratory of creative ideas and cooperation, laboratory of biomedical research, as well as laboratory of biotechnological research, engaged in the creation of new biological products and technologies in the field of biotechnology and genetic engineering.
The university also opened a coworking center "QyzPU Unispace", designed to implement new ideas and creative initiatives.
One of the most important events that took place within the framework of the anniversary was the signing of a strategic agreement between QyzPU and the world's leading universities. As part of the anniversary, Agreements on strategic cooperation between QyzPU and Michigan State University, Sussex University were signed in the new building. In addition, an agreement was signed on the establishment of a Teacher Training Academy between QyzPU, Education University of Hong Kong and Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. Another important news for the country's education system was the signing of an Agreement on the creation of an Alliance between the Education University of Hong Kong and the rectors of Kazakhstani universities.
