The XXVIII international competition dedicated to the memory of the hero of the Soviet Union, Major General Sabir Rakhimov has started in the Sports Complex "Olympic center" in Turkestan. Along with Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, 456 wrestlers from all regions and cities of the Republic of Kazakhstan come to the competition in freestyle and women's wrestling among young people born in 2005-2007.
At the grand opening of the International Youth freestyle wrestling competition, deputy akim of Turkestan region Yertay Altayev congratulated the participants and guests of the competition and wished them good luck.
– The international wrestling competition has started in the spiritual city. Since 1996, competitions with the flag raised for the 28th time have been organized at a high level. Today, about 5,000 children and teenagers are engaged in freestyle wrestling in the region. More than 200 coaches carry out daily training work on them. Work in these areas will continue in the future, " Yertay Kenzhebekovich said.
The types of wrestling that warm up the beauty of the Olympic Games are developing rapidly in the world today. In this regard, this international competition, which is traditionally organized, will give a great impetus to improving the skills of young people.
In a fierce competition, boys determine the winners in 10 weight categories, and girls compete among themselves in 10 weight categories. The international fight will continue for 3 days.
The competition was organized by the Department of Physical Culture and sports of the Turkestan region, the specialized children's and Youth Sports School of the regional Olympic Reserve No. 1. The main goal of the international tournament is to improve the skills of young wrestlers, develop sports.
