This year Kazakhstan celebrates the 30th anniversary of the ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. For 30 years, our country has come a long way in ensuring the protection and well-being of children.
In 2006, the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights was established. In 2016, the Institute of the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan was introduced. An institute of children's representative offices has been established in each region, the composition of which is formed annually from among school activists. On behalf of the Head of State, a national monitoring index of children's well-being has been introduced.
In December 2023, Kazakhstan ratified the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child. This year, the status of the regional Commissioner for Children's Rights has been legislated.
It is important to note that in almost all strategic documents of the republic, children are the main beneficiaries.
