During a working detour of the Bostandyk district, Akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev got acquainted with the solution of the issue of additional education, including with the participation of private capital. The mayor visited the construction site of the new building of the School House No. 3 on Vakhtangov Street.
The head of the city's Construction Department, Almas Shabdarbayev, reported on the 80 percent readiness of the facility. A modern two-storey building is being built on the site of the former one, which was recognized as an emergency, there will be 12 classrooms for creativity, a lecture hall and even a garden inside the courtyard.
2,000 children aged 5-17 years old will be able to study at the School House every week. A debate club, circles on programming, 3D modeling, design, photo and video editing will work for them. The children will master public speaking, decorative and applied arts and fine arts.
According to the builders, they intend to deliver the object "turnkey" by January 15 next year. To which Yerbolat Dosayev noted that there is no need for haste – the most comfortable conditions should be created for children, all equipment should be installed and connected, and the territory should be landscaped.
"This center for children's creativity is very important for the northern part of the Bostandyk district. Now the children are studying in schools, but next year they will come here. We have set a task to make all such buildings accessible, taking into account the requirements of inclusion, in order to ensure equal opportunities for all children," Yerbolat Dosayev said.
The school House No. 3 was founded 55 years ago, in 1987 it moved to Vakhtangov str. 2-2A. The building did not meet the requirements of seismic safety, the assembly hall was in disrepair. With a design capacity of 650 places, 1,747 students were engaged here. During the construction, the clubs were temporarily distributed to the schools of the district.
Private capital also contributes to the development of creative and creative abilities of the younger generation. During the tour, the mayor of the city visited the Sham School, founded by director Kuanysh Beisekeyev with the support of patrons. The school has a capacity of 180 places. Today, 115 children from grades 7 to 11 study here. Grants are provided to half of them, and it is planned to provide grant education for all children next year.
Yerbolat Dosayev was told that the main difference from an ordinary school is additional classes in the specialties that are in demand now. Videography, photography, animation, editing and drawing are taught here, which is what teenagers live in the virtual world now. They also teach how to pilot FPV drones here, which will allow the guys to make impressive shots for clips and movies.
As the students themselves shared, they really like the format of creative learning in a positive, creative atmosphere, especially they noted the efforts of young teachers who share the secrets of mastery.
The mayor of the city wished the children success and said that the knowledge gained here will be applied in practice and will be useful to them in the future. And Yerbolat Dosayev expressed support to the school's management and noted that such initiative projects in the field of creative industries are necessary for the city.
In general, more than 300 thousand children are enrolled in additional education in Almaty. Among them, 28,680 children are engaged in 19 state educational organizations, 7,570 in 102 private ones under the state educational order, 112,851 in schools, 90,988 under the Damu Bala program, and about 62 thousand on a paid basis.
To create comfortable conditions, 3 centers for the development of creativity are being built this year at the expense of the city budget – in Alatau, Bostandyk and Turksib districts with a total capacity of 2,810 seats. Another one with 500 seats is planned to be built in Zhetysu district. At the same time, as part of the social responsibility for the private company's own funds, a school House for 3,500 students is being built in the Almaly district.
