536 BILLION TENGE OF INVESTMENTS HAVE BEEN ATTRACTED TO SHYMKENT SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR

It is well known that in order to boost and stimulate the region's economy, it is important to create conditions for investors. Since this year, in order to increase the efficiency of work on attracting investments, the Invest Shymkent front office has been actively operating in the city, which accompanies investors on the principle of "one window". To date, about 2 thousand services have been provided to investors here, starting with the development of a business plan and the maintenance of all permits necessary for the implementation of the project. This was announced by Akim of Shymkent Gabit Syzdykbekov at an on-site reporting meeting at the site of the Central Communications Service.
According to the head of the megalopolis, as a result of the support provided to investors, the volume of attracted investments reached 536 billion tenge, an increase of 9% compared to last year.
"According to the approved government plan by 2028, it is planned to attract 5.6 trillion tenge of investments to the city. Already today, a pool of 220 investment projects worth 2.7 trillion tenge has been formed, and with the creation of more than 30 thousand new jobs. Among the large-scale projects is the country's largest greenhouse complex with a total area of 650 hectares. The $650 million project is being implemented by a Turkish investor, Alarko Holding. In addition, an agreement was signed with the Polish company Fabe Polska on the construction of a high-tech greenhouse with an area of 150 hectares and a cost of 200 million US dollars. Another major project is the construction of a combined cycle gas plant with a capacity of 500 MW in the amount of 700 million US dollars. Thanks to the implementation of this project, the residents of the city will be provided with high-quality electric and thermal energy," said G.Syzdykbekov.
At the same time, the mayor of the city noted that this year in Shymkent the number of actively working small and medium-sized businesses exceeded 136 thousand. This year, 23.5 billion tenge is provided for measures of state support for entrepreneurship. Moreover, for the first time in the city, the project "creation of small production sites" (prompark) was launched to support new initiatives of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs. Ready-made production sites with the necessary infrastructure will be available for entrepreneurs here.
Along with this, at the initiative of the mayor of the city, it was decided to reduce the retail tax from 4 to 2 percent from this year. This measure will allow entrepreneurs to work more openly, and budget revenues from this type of taxes have already increased 4.4 times.
