Today, on December 25, 2024, at 11:00 local time, the Department of emergency situations of the Mangistau region received information about the emergency situation of the Embraer 190ar aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines, flying on the Baku-Grozny route, declaring an emergency situation and creating conditions for landing at Aktau airport. The landing time was set at approximately 11: 25.
According to preliminary information, there were 69 people on board, including 5 crews.
Forces and equipment of the emergency department of Mangystau region were immediately sent to the scene.
At 11: 30, information was received about a plane crash 3 kilometers from the airport. In this regard, the forces and means of emergency situations of the highest rank were additionally sent.
On the basis of the command center of the Ministry of emergency situations, the Republican headquarters was created, which included representatives of the Ministries of Internal Affairs, health, transport, the National Guard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other departments.
In general, 701 people and 82 units of equipment from the personnel of the Civil Protection Service are involved in the operation.
As of 11:45, the fire was isolated and extinguished at 12: 05. At 14: 10, 29 people, including 2 children, were taken to medical institutions. At the moment, emergency rescue operations continue.
To provide medical care, an air ambulance board from Astana was sent to Aktau.
In addition, minister of emergency situations Major General Chingiz Arinov, vice minister of emergency situations Kegen Tursynbayev and head of the Emergency Response Department went to Aktau to coordinate the actions of the government commission at the scene.
