A lot of snow has fallen in Astana over the past few days. To ensure the comfortable movement of citizens along the streets and roads, municipal services are carrying out snow removal work around the clock in an enhanced shift mode, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
Over the past night from December 24 to December 25, utilities transported about 46 thousand cubic meters of snow from the capital on 3,626 flights.
On December 25, 2,599 road workers and 1,579 pieces of special equipment were involved in snow removal operations.
In total, since the beginning of the winter period, more than 1.6 million cubic meters of snow have been transported by 126,797 flights from the city to landfills.
According to the rules, first of all, areas with very heavy traffic are cleared in the city so that there is no congestion on the roads. Areas with moderate intensity are also being cleared of snow — squares, station areas, sidewalks, access roads to social facilities, etc.
Cleaning on central streets, passenger transport routes, bus stops and sidewalks is a priority.
There are several equipped snow training grounds in the capital. They are equipped with a system for reading the license plates of dump trucks, video surveillance cameras are installed here, and lighting is connected.
We ask residents and guests of the capital to be careful on the roads, observe safety regulations, and refrain from long-distance travel in case of a storm warning.
