Funeral wreaths were lowered into the waters of the Caspian Sea in the ports of Aktau, Kuryk and Bautino as a sign of memory and sorrow for those killed in the plane crash on December 25, 2024.
The sailors agreed that this was a common tragedy, a common pain for all.
- This gesture is a tribute of respect and sorrow to all those who died in this terrible plane crash. This is one of the most tragic events in recent years, dozens of people have died, including children. The feelings of the victims' loved ones are clear, we are with you. We share your grief and grieve with you," the participants of the action noted.
One of the ceremonies took place on the ferry "Zarifa Aliyeva" of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the port of Kuryk, where employees of the enterprise, akimat of the district and media representatives gathered. Serik Akhmetov, Director of Kuryk Port LLP, called the plane crash a tragic event that affected the entire region. He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and wished them patience.
A similar event was held in the port of Bautino, where dozens of people gathered. They observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims and noted that residents of the region, including sailors, are ready to provide all possible support to the victims at any time.
As reported, on the morning of December 25, an Azerbaijani Airlines plane flying from Baku to Grozny crashed near Aktau. There were 67 people on board, including the crew. 29 of them managed to survive. On the same day, a government commission headed by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev flew to Aktau. An investigation is underway into the plane crash.
