According to preliminary data, more than 2.5 million people of the target population have been examined since the beginning of the year as part of the cancer screening program.
Screening studies conducted within the framework of the national program for early detection of cancer show high effectiveness in early diagnosis and prevention of cancer.
During the screening period, the following results were revealed:
• Precancerous diseases were detected in 218.8 thousand people.
• Malignant neoplasms have been diagnosed in more than 2.1 thousand people.
Special attention is paid to screening for certain types of cancer:
Breast cancer
The survey of women aged 40-70 included more than 830,000 women. Precancerous diseases were detected in 158 thousand cases. Of these, 1.5 thousand women were diagnosed with breast cancer.
Cervical cancer
More than 700 thousand women were examined. Precancerous diseases were detected in 53 thousand cases, of which 359 cases were confirmed to have cervical cancer.
Colorectal cancer
The screening covered more than 900,000 men and women aged 50-70 years. 7826 cases of precancerous diseases were identified, of which 356 were diagnosed with cancer.
At the initiative of the Ministry of Health, starting in 2025, all cancer screenings will be available in the GOBMP package. And also, for the first time since 2025, the following will be implemented for the insured::
Ultrasound of brachiocephalic vessels for early diagnosis and prevention of acute cerebrovascular accident;
- outpatient coronary angiography for early diagnosis of heart vessel damage and prevention of myocardial infarction.
Regular screening examinations significantly increase the likelihood of early detection of cancer, which allows you to start treatment at an earlier stage. This, in turn, increases the chances of a successful recovery and reduces the risk of complications.
