On December 23, 2024, power unit No. 1 of Ekibastuzskaya GRES-1 was successfully commissioned after 72 hours of successful operation at full capacity. The new 500 MW power unit significantly increases the capacity of the country's generating capacities, providing stable and reliable electricity supply to the economy and the population of the country.
The power unit construction project has become an important stage in the implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on the development and modernization of the country's energy infrastructure. Ekibastuz GRES-1, located in one of the country's leading energy centers, continues to play a strategic role in ensuring Kazakhstan's energy security and supporting its industrial growth.
