The opening of the second stage of the plant for processing lead production waste for the production of non-ferrous metal concentrate by Standard Steel KZ LLP took place in Shymkent. The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Nysanbayev and Akim of Shymkent Gabit Syzdykbekov.
As Ye.Nysanbayev noted in his speech, "The implementation of such projects is not only environmental safety, but also an opportunity to create a new source of resources, preserve nature and ensure a healthy future.
The business community deserves to support such an initiative of the company by introducing innovative technologies for processing industrial waste accumulated over decades. I believe that this step is the beginning of a big deal.
In general, the company's activities have a positive impact on the socio-economic development of not only the region, but also the whole country," said Ye. Nysanbayev.
In his speech, the head of Shymkent noted that the launch of production would not only contribute to the development of the city's economy, but also reduce the environmental consequences of industrial enterprises.
"The industrial sector is developing dynamically in the country, and the number of enterprises is growing every year. The state provides them with all possible support, which creates jobs and improves the well-being of citizens," said G.Syzdykbekov.
It is worth noting that the investment project with a total cost of over 13 billion tenge provided employment for about 300 people. After the implementation of the first stage, to date, the plant has produced over 4,600 tons of copper-silver concentrate per year. The launch of the plant will allow the company to increase production and additionally produce more than 20 thousand tons of zinc oxide annually.
