To prepare for the flood period, the branch of the D.Konaev Grand Almaty Canal discharged 30% of the water from the Bartogai reservoir, 20% from the Kurtin reservoir.
Thus, in the spring, two reservoirs will be able to receive about 420 million cubic meters of water for safe passage of floods.
The collected flood water will be used for the needs of farmers during the irrigation period.
This year, the branch has continuously provided more than 50,000 hectares of land with more than 544 million cubic meters of water.

"Preparations for the flood period are continuing, and schedules for the operation of reservoirs have been developed for today.
According to the technical condition: two reservoirs have passed a multifactorial inspection and are ready to receive flood waters," Bakyt Abishev, director of the branch of Kazvodkhoz D.Konaev Grand Almaty Canal, said.
