Kokshetau plays an important role in the industrial production of the Akmola region, providing almost a fifth of the total volume. Mechanical engineering, the food industry and the production of building materials are developing here. This was stated by akim of the region Marat Akhmetzhanov at a reporting meeting with the population of the city of Kokshetau.
Such large enterprises as JSC Tynys and LLP Asyl-Arman, as well as 15 medium-sized and 171 small and subsidiary enterprises operate in the regional center.
The region is a leader in the production of agricultural machinery, trucks and specialized vehicles. It produces 100% of railway bearings, 81% of specialized vehicles, 67% of combine harvesters and 39% of tractors nationwide.
Despite the successes achieved, it is important to strengthen production, increase the volume of finished products and work on import substitution of components.
This year, 11 investment projects have been implemented in the city.Among the key facilities: a complex for processing legumes and cereals, a universal pea groat shop, the third stage of the industrial park of agricultural machinery, a feed mill and other enterprises. However, there are still not enough projects related to the production of finished products in Kokshetau.
"The Mayor's Office of the city needs to work on attracting foreign investments, which currently account for only 6.2% of the total investment. The main goal is to create more export–oriented enterprises and maximize the potential of the city for the development of industrial production," M. Akhmetzhanov said.
