The grand opening of the branch of the D.I. Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology on the basis of M.H. Dulati Taraz University took place in Taraz.
The ceremony was attended by Akim of Zhambyl region Yerbol Karashukeyev, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Talgat Yeshenkulov, General Director of Kazphosphate LLP Evgeny Pak, Acting Rector of D.I. Mendeleev RCTU Evgeny Rumyantsev.
In pursuance of the instructions of the Head of State on the opening of branches of leading foreign universities, a trilateral agreement on cooperation in the field of education and science, as well as the implementation of double degree programs with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan was signed. Besides M.H. Dulati Taraz University and RCTU, Kazphosphate LLP is its participant.
- Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev noted that it is necessary to change the view of education, priority should be given to technical professions. A new generation of engineers and industrialists will have to be raised.
Zhambyl region is the center of the chemical industry in Kazakhstan. Large factories located in our region are the industry's flagships. The opening of this branch in the regional center is an important step in the further development of the chemical industry," said Erbol Karashukeyev.
Congratulatory letters from Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov were also read out.
Since the beginning of the academic year, the branch has been teaching the first group of Zhambyl students (30 people) in the field of "Technology of inorganic substances" for chemical industry enterprises.
The branch has 4 laboratories, 2 computer labs, a conference room and classrooms.
Kazphosphate LLP allocated funds for the overhaul of the building and the supply of equipment.
Last May, the project of the first network campus in the chemical industry in the CIS was launched. According to the joint educational program in the format "2+1+1 " future chemical technologists will study for the first two years at the M. H. Dulati Taraz University, the third year at the D. I. Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology, and in the fourth year, after returning to Taraz, in addition to studying, they will work at enterprises Kazphosphate LLP.
Mendeleev classes have been opened in the schools of the region to organize a system of in-depth study of subjects of the natural science cycle.
