The Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, as the authorized body for international trade and facilitation of trade procedures, actively cooperates with international organizations to improve the efficiency of transport corridors, reduce barriers to trade and develop trade relations. In this context, the SPECA Economic Forum, held from November 26 to 28, 2024 in Dushanbe (Tajikistan), plays a key role in supporting sustainable economic growth and expanding regional cooperation.
The SPECA Forum is an important platform for discussing issues of sustainable development and integration of Central Asian countries into the global economy. The main purpose of the forum is to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and promote regional initiatives to achieve the goals of a green economy, increase energy efficiency and develop sustainable transport networks.
Important topics of discussion at the 2024 Forum were:
Expanding cooperation between the countries of the region to support green development and the introduction of innovative technologies that contribute to sustainable economic growth.
Exchange of knowledge and experience between government officials and key stakeholders in the field of policies and strategies aimed at improving socio-economic security and sustainability, as well as the development of "green" technologies.
The development of renewable energy sources and increased energy efficiency, which directly affects the improvement of trade conditions and cost reduction in the energy sector.
Strengthening trade cooperation between SPECA member States and international organizations, which contributes to reducing barriers to trade and improving conditions for the business environment in the region.
One of the most important aspects of the forum will be the discussion of opportunities for the development of national development strategies in line with international agendas, such as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Vienna Programme of Action for Landlocked Developing Countries. These strategies will help to improve transport flows, increase their efficiency and transparency, which will contribute to the development of trade and economic integration of the countries of the region.
