12 free outdoor ice rinks will operate in Almaty for residents and guests of the megalopolis. This was reported by the city Sports Department.
The ice rinks will operate at the following addresses daily:
Abai Square in front of the Palace of the Republic;
Halyk Arena;
Park named after 28 Panfilov heroes;
Park named after the First President;
the square in front of the Nauryzbay Akimat;
KBTU parking;
Aviator Stadium;
mkr. Kokzhiek;
Gulder Park;
Almaty Arena;
School children's House No. 6;
in front of the theater. Musrepova.
The project is being implemented as part of the development of mass sports and for the purpose of organizing leisure activities for citizens. The area of the ice pads will be from 500 m2 to 1,900 m2 of ice surface.
The expected capacity of all rinks is more than 300 thousand people per season.
Skate rental points will be open at the skating rinks. The cost of renting skates is 1.5 thousand tenge per session (2 hours). The opening hours of the pick-up points are from 10:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and from 10:00 to 23:00 on weekends and holidays. Skating is completely free with your own skates.
The planned opening date is December 1 of this year, under favorable weather conditions for ice pads. Please note that the technical launch of several ice rinks took place.
The project on outdoor ice rinks has been implemented by the Sports Department since 2017. During this time, they were visited by more than 2 million people.
