Last Saturday, Qazaq IT Community day was held, dedicated to the Day of Digitalization of Kazakhstan. The event brought together more than 300 representatives of the IT sector, including talented Kazakh youth. The event was held in Almaty with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, Akimat of Almaty, Association for Artificial Intelligence, WomenintechKazakhstan, GDG and WomenTechmakers.
The main topics related to youth policy and digitalization were announced at the forum, as innovations and human capital determine the digital potential of Kazakhstan.
• By 2029, we must train 1 million AI talents. This is possible thanks to the development of AI culture and infrastructure. This thesis was made by Kanysh Tuleushin, First Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry.
• If we do not deal with AI regulation issues now, we will negotiate with it later. This thesis was shared by Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ekaterina Smyshlyaeva.
• Digital solutions for instant earthquake notification are being introduced for the safety of the city - this is relevant for Almaty. This was told by Olzhas Zhanabek, head of the Digitalization Department in Almaty.
Venture investor Bakht Niyazov spoke about the importance of technological entrepreneurship.He also noted that the creation of such platforms as the Qazaq it community creates new opportunities for young people, and if today at least two startups appear out of all representatives, it will already be a big victory.
• Mahmut Tomanov shared the results of the work of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and outlined the role of regional universities in the development of infrastructure for the development of artificial intelligence.
• At a panel session on artificial intelligence, representatives of the association of the same name talked about projects, approaches and problems related to the development of AI in our country. For an effective dialogue between the state and business, the association itself was created. This was told by the deputy head of the association Anar Tuleubayeva.
• At the session on cybersecurity and countering social engineering, Chairman of the Board of the State Customs Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Junisbek, as well as experts from TSARKA, QazTech, Bacotech, MSSP Global and other relevant companies announced the basic rules of behavior in social media, and what tools exist to ensure Internet security. Experts always put common sense and logical actions at the forefront in atypical situations on social networks.
This year, the Qazaq IT community awarded the best projects and their creators in seven categories: Rising Star in IT 2024, Innovation Driver 2024, Social Impact in IT 2024, Tech Advancement of the Year 2024, Mobile App Innovator 2024, Strategic Team Leader, Web Mastermind 2024.

In total, more than 85 applications were accepted, of which the winners were determined. The jury members included the heads of development and transformation teams from Kazpost JSC, Bank Center Credit JSC, Kazakhtelecom JSC, Axiom Capital, Women in Tech Kazakhstan.
QazaqITCommunity is the largest IT community in Kazakhstan, with more than 4,300 representatives of the IT sector. The community holds free events for participants, including technical and thematic meetups, hiking in the mountains and others.
