Astana, November 28, 2024 – A joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization was held under the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh delegation included Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, Secretary of the Security Council Gizat Nurdauletov and Defense Minister Ruslan Zhaksylykov.
During the meeting, the military-political situation in the CSTO collective security regions and the Organization's activities during the intersessional period were discussed.
Special attention was paid to the international agenda, and a substantive exchange of views took place on the situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
Following the results of the event, draft documents submitted for signature by the CSTO Collective Security Council were approved.
Among them are the Declaration of the Collective Security Council, the Statement of the Security Council and the Action Plan in connection with the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
International agreements in the field of transportation of military and other formations, movable property, military products and a draft decision of the Collective Security Council on further strengthening allied relations within the framework of the CSTO were approved.
The foreign ministers adopted political statements on the situation in Afghanistan, as well as on the 20th anniversary since the CSTO was granted observer status at the UN General Assembly.
The Ministers of Defense and the secretaries of the Security Councils approved the Basics of the preparation and application of CSR, as well as recommendations on medical support for the CSTO troops.
The participants of the Joint Meeting agreed on the draft Agenda of the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, which will meet in the afternoon of November 28 in Astana.
In connection with the transition of the CSTO chairmanship to the Kyrgyz Republic, regular meetings of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, CFR and KSSB will be held in the first half of next year in Kyrgyzstan.
