To improve safety in remote areas of mountainous territories, in November 2021, the Akimat installed 18 mountain huts where tourists can find emergency first aid kits: first aid kits, charging stations, warm blankets and food packages. Additionally, there are control and rescue points in the Bolshoy and Maly Almaty gorges, and in 2025 it is planned to install another point in the Butakov Gorge.
Rescuers noted that for rapid response to emergency situations, the Akimat Rescue Service has 4 ATVs, 2 snowmobiles and other equipment.
"In the first nine months of 2024, 210 search and rescue operations were conducted, 208 of them in the mountains. As a result, 396 people were rescued, including 59 children," Denis Yartsev, a representative of the Emergency Department, summed up.
