A resident of the Karatal district of the Zhetisu region, being on probation registration, received a grant from the state in the amount of 1.5 million tenge and opened his own business. A single father with many children received support thanks to the participation of the district akimat and the prosecutor's office, the press service of the akim of the Zhetisu region reports.
Being in a difficult life situation, a resident of Ushtobe, a father of five children, Bekzat Otezhanov, thought about opening his own tire repair center. The financial support provided by the state helped him to bring the idea to life:
- Before that, I had been repairing car tires for 12 years. But then I was working renting a building. Of course, it's better when you have your own center. Later, after learning that the state allocates grants, he submitted the documents. Thus, he received a gratuitous grant in the amount of 1.5 million tenge. Thanks to the help of relatives, he built his own building in the city of Ushtobe, and purchased special equipment for tire repair with grant funds. So far, I don't have many customers, but given the fact that there are many car owners in the region, I think that their number will gradually increase. In this case, I plan to hire an assistant," says B. Otezhanov.
According to the akimat of Karatal district, in general, 58 people have applied for gratuitous grants in the district since the beginning of the year, 18 of them have been approved, and financial state support has been provided.
- This year, 25.6 million tenge has been allocated in the district for the provision of gratuitous grants, that is, 1 million 476 thousand tenge is allocated to each citizen whose application is approved, this is 400 MCI. Among those who received support are large families, low-income families, people with disabilities, and generally different categories of citizens. Basically, they started working in different directions, including the production of plastic windows, sandblocks, tire installation, and livestock development," says Aibek Ongarov, Deputy akim of the Karatal district.
In general, according to the results of 10 months of this year, the number of small and medium-sized businesses in the Zhetisu region amounted to 60.7 units, and the number of people employed in this area reached 104.7 thousand people. The volume of products produced and services rendered by them amounted to 491.5 billion tenge. Tax revenues to the budget increased 1.3 times compared to the level of 2023. Currently, the share of SMEs in the gross regional product exceeds 33%.
In total, in order to financially support small and medium-sized businesses, 369 projects for a total loan amount of 14.1 billion tenge were approved in the region this year, including interest rate subsidies, partial guarantees, grants, project financing, as well as the provision of engineering infrastructure.
