As part of the work carried out by the Ministry of Energy to support domestic producers and stimulate an increase in the share of domestic value in the purchases of the national company in the field of uranium mining and its subsidiaries, on November 28, 2024, Kazatomprom JSC held a round table "Development and support of domestic producers" in Astana, within which the national company informed about the tasks and prospects in the work on the import substitution program, and also presented successful cases of existing producers.
The event was attended by representatives of more than 20 domestic producers and suppliers of works (services), Samruk-Kazyna Contract LLP, the Union of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan and public associations.
During his speech, Vice Minister A. Zhamauov noted the work carried out jointly with JSC NAC Kazatomprom to increase the domestic value and support domestic producers in the purchase of goods, works and services used for subsurface use, as well as the significant role of domestic producers, who make a key contribution to supporting the work of the uranium industry, providing enterprises with the necessary materials, equipment and services.
At the end of the event, in a solemn atmosphere, uranium companies concluded 20 offtake contracts with 8 domestic producers in the amount of about 2.4 billion tenge and signed Memoranda on further cooperation with European companies such as STUWA Konrad Stukerjurgen GmbH (Germany) for the production of pumps, water lifting pipes, filters, BAUER GROUP (Germany) for special equipment, including drilling rigs for the water, energy and mineral resources sector.
The work of the Ministry of Energy in this direction will continue.
