Kazakhstan has become an honorary guest of the 21st China International Agricultural Products Exhibition, which takes place from November 29 to December 1 in Guangzhou.
More than 30 leading Kazakhstani enterprises engaged in the production of agricultural products have demonstrated the potential and capabilities of the Kazakh agro-industrial complex for international partners and investors.
"The national exposition of Kazakhstan at the Guangzhou exhibition is an important step towards strengthening our country's position in the international market of agricultural products and demonstrating its high quality standards.
Today, companies whose products most vividly demonstrate the quality of agricultural products produced in Kazakhstan and its diversity presented their products here," Vice Minister of Agriculture Yermek Kenzhehanuly said at the opening of the pavilion.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Han Jun visited the pavilion.
The pavilion presents high-quality products made in KZ: safflower, sunflower, rapeseed oils, granulated feed, meat products, poultry products, flour, beverages, the domestic brand "aport", dry mare and camel milk, honey, ice cream and more.
The visitors were particularly interested in products of deep grain processing, such as gluten, starch, bioethanol. These products are in demand and exported to India, the USA, Colombia, the CIS countries and the European Union.
Also, within the framework of the exhibition, a forum was organized to promote the development of agriculture, at which topical issues of the agro-industrial complex were discussed with the participation of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China Han Jun, employees of the government of Guangzhou Province, experts and scientists, agricultural producers, representatives of financial and investment institutions.
The Vice Minister noted that China is a strategic partner of Kazakhstan in the field of agriculture and the largest trading partner in the field of agro-industrial products. In 2023, the trade turnover of agro-industrial products with China increased by 1.7 times, exceeding $ 1.3 billion.
"Now food security is an urgent issue for the whole world, and Kazakhstan plays an important role in ensuring it. Over the past five years, exports of agricultural products have almost doubled, and we aim to bring it to $ 10 billion in the next five years. Our country holds a firm position among the world's top ten wheat exporters and is significantly strengthening its position in animal husbandry. The long-term agricultural policy implemented by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan creates favorable conditions for conducting agribusiness and provides support to the sector. Exporting high-quality livestock products, increasing the volume of production and processing of agricultural products remain a priority for us. We also continue to attract foreign direct investment and create joint ventures with an emphasis on mutually beneficial cooperation," he said.
With the participation of Chinese investors, a number of significant projects have been successfully implemented in Kazakhstan, including the production of rapeseed oil in North Kazakhstan region, processing and production of camel and mare's milk powder in Turkestan. The issue of implementing 5 more investment projects worth about $ 700 million is being worked out.
