By the end of the year, repairs of 193 km of roads of regional significance and internal roads of 54 settlements will be completed in the Zhetisu region. Among them are roads connecting settlements, access roads and intra-village roads, bridges. By the end of the year, the level of roads in good and satisfactory condition in the region will reach 94%, the press service of the akim of the Zhetisu region reports.
For example, if recently a road to the remote village of Kopbirlik was put into operation in the Karatal district, which has not seen repair for almost 30 years, now work on asphalting the Ushtobe-Ortatobe-Kishitobe highway is nearing completion.
The issue of repairing this road was raised during the meeting of the akim of the Zhetisu region, Beibit Isabayev, at a meeting with the population of the Karatal district. Then, on behalf of the head of the region, funds were allocated, and work began in April this year.
- To date, the work has been completed by 95%. Road signs are being installed and roadsides are being improved. Two-layer asphalt with a total thickness of 10 cm has been laid. The work is carried out efficiently and on schedule," said Talgat Ualiev, head of the Department of Housing and Communal Services, passenger transport, highways and housing inspection of the Karatal district.
A resident of the village, veteran Oraz Shettibayuly, also shared his opinion:
- Back in 1974, I moved from the village of Zhylybulak to this settlement. In recent years, attention has been paid to the development of rural areas and infrastructure. In our village with six streets, four streets have been landscaped, and asphalt pavement has been laid. A school is being built, and a turnkey medical center will be commissioned soon. This is good news," the aksakal said.
By the way, in 2024, 40.6 billion tenge was allocated for the construction and repair of roads in the Zhetisu region, it is planned to carry out work on the construction and reconstruction of 38 km, average repair of 155.4 km, current repair of 60.6 thousand square meters of roads of regional significance and 157 km of intra-village roads in 54 settlements. The construction of 132 km of road to Lake Balkhash is also being completed, which will be fully commissioned before the tourist season next year.
In addition, major projects for the reconstruction of highways of national importance are being implemented in the Zhetisu region. The reconstruction of the Usharal-Dostyk, Taldykorgan –Usharal highway is at the completion stage. Repair work is also continuing on sections of the Saryozek-Koktal and Aidarly – Koktal highways.
