In the middle of the month, the ice skating season officially started at the "Alau" skating rink, and today the first half of skiing in Central Park took place, the official website of the mayor's office of the city reports.
"Last year, the winter came late, and only at the end of December we started the skiing season. This year, snow falls early, and the weather is favorable for winter sports as early as November. I can't say that today's event is the opening of the official ski season. The season starts on December 18th. However, today's sports event gathered about 200 participants. Not bad. In summer, running is gaining popularity, and in winter, skiing is in demand by the population. Be a sports companion and spend your vacation in a good mood," said Daulet Khamzin, the Chief Judge of the competition.
The event was attended by everyone who wished, and each participant brought their own skis. And those who came with interest for the first time took their first steps in this sport, renting it for 2,000 tenge.
It is worth noting that in Central Park on weekdays from 19:00 to 21:00 you can rent skis and learn on your own. And if you need the help of a coach, there is also a section for children in the amount of 35 thousand tenge, for adults-40 thousand tenge per month.
"I have been skiing regularly for 10 years. I'm a police officer myself. Therefore, I chose this sport. I kick regularly 3-4 times a week. As skiing affects the movement of the whole body, both my arms and legs are in the position," said Zhomart Boranbayev, a resident of the city.
Now, in the future, every week on weekends in Central Park, ski competitions will be organized among people leading a healthy lifestyle and lovers of active recreation in the fresh air.
