On the eve of winter, mass cleaning of citywide territories and public spaces is being completed in Almaty. Within the framework of the republican concept of "Taza Kazakhstan" and the city campaign "Almaty is our common home", on behalf of the mayor of the city Yerbolat Dosayev, a large–scale cleaning of the street and road network, public places, riverbeds, street urns and irrigation ditches was carried out from November 25 to 30.
Today, active residents of Almaty gathered in one of the iconic places of the metropolis – the Bauma grove. More than 80 people took part in the environmental action. They not only cleared the park area of garbage, but also set an example to all citizens that they need to take care of the environment. During the campaign, 300 bags of garbage were collected.
"The environmental campaign "Taza Kazakhstan", which was initiated by the Head of State, is designed to unite all those who oppose consumer attitudes to nature, pay attention to environmental issues and instill a culture of respect for the place where you live, clean up garbage after yourself, thereby increasing the level of environmental culture and literacy of residents and guests megalopolis," said Uzak Zhambyluly, Acting Director of the Medeu Natural Park.
The event became an example of how the public can come together to solve urgent environmental problems. Among the participants were well-known cultural figures who called on citizens to keep public places clean and take care of nature.

Citizens and guests of Almaty pay attention that the city has become noticeably neater. There are some sections that are not immediately put in order, but in general, the efforts of the city services are noticeable.
"I live nearby and I see that our favorite place is always cleaned. It is pleasant that residents of different ages do not remain indifferent and take part in useful actions. It is clear that the city is being occupied, the streets and courtyards have become neat and well-groomed. Of course, not everything is perfect, but this is a big lively city, unfortunately, and the residents themselves often litter. The most important thing is that the mayor of the city has a goal to make Almaty well-groomed and clean, we all have to participate in this," Almagul, a local resident, shared her observations.
Recall that as part of the Cleanliness Week, city utilities have completed the preparation of the city for cold and snowfall. For the winter period, 841 units of equipment and 1,400 road workers will be involved in servicing the city. In order to carry out the work effectively, the fleet of the State Enterprise "Almaty Tazalyk" was replenished with 32 modern cars. Sanitary cleaning covers 2,318 streets with a total area of 25.1 million square meters. m with a length of 2,777 km. The cleaning of the road network is carried out by 10 contractors.
Special attention is paid to cleaning the city's 1,525 km long irrigation network. Every day, up to 80 pieces of equipment and 320 workers take out about 160 cubic meters of estimates, silt and garbage from the irrigation network. The emissions consist mainly of plastic and leaves.
Eco Almaty LLP cleaned the riverbeds of the Bolshaya Almatinka River in the area from al-Farabi Ave. to Satpayev Str.; Esentai in the area from al-Farabi Ave. to Shevchenko Str., as well as the D. Kunaev tank within the city of Almaty with a length of 19.2 km.
In addition, as part of the new rules developed in accordance with the concept of "Taza Kazakhstan", about 2 thousand entrepreneurs have signed landscaping passports today. These measures are part of a strategy to create a comfortable, safe and environmentally friendly environment for Almaty residents and guests of the city.
