Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov is on a working trip to Zhambyl region. On the first day of his business trip, he got acquainted with the progress of several major projects.
In the village of Kainar, Nurzhan Nurzhigitov got acquainted with the construction of a pumping station, which should provide water to 3,800 hectares of cultivated areas of the Kordai district. It is planned to complete the work next year. The Minister instructed to fully prepare the facility on time for use during the next irrigation period.
Next, the Minister got acquainted with plans to strengthen 1.8 km of the shoreline of the Shu River to prevent flooding of the bridge on the Kokkainar-Aksu highway. Nurzhan Nurzhigitov also discussed measures to protect settlements from floods with local executive bodies.
At the Tasotkel reservoir, the minister got acquainted with the results of the reconstruction of the facility. As of today, excavation and concrete work, well cleaning, canal repair, installation of warning and video surveillance systems, and repair of the access road have been fully completed. It remains to test the facility.
"A lot of work has been done at the Tasotkel reservoir over the past three years. This will allow us to start accumulating 620 million cubic meters of water in it in the next 2-3 years. Next year we plan to collect 500 million cubic meters of water in the reservoir. He also discussed flood control measures with the deputy akim of the region and the akims of the districts. The Ministry will give the necessary recommendations to local executive bodies," Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov said.
Further, the Minister got acquainted with the progress of the project to improve the irrigation and drainage systems of the Shuisky district. As of today, the work has been completed by 80%.
Nurzhan Nurzhigitov listened to the opinions and suggestions of local residents regarding the project. The Minister instructed the representatives of the contractor to eliminate all the shortcomings and complete the work next year. The Water Authority, in turn, will provide the necessary support.
