The Vice Minister of Energy noted the changes introduced in 2024 to the legislation in the field of subsoil use aimed at improving the investment climate and reducing administrative procedures. Over the past 10 years, the annual volume of oil production in the Kyzylorda region has decreased by 3 times. Most of the significant fields here are at the 3rd and 4th stages of development with a decrease in oil production. There is a reduction in capital expenditures for drilling and major repairs of wells.
The meeting participants exchanged views on further cooperation and strategies for the development of joint projects in the region.
Within the framework of the technical seminar, a trilateral Memorandum of an investment project for the socio-economic development of the city of Kyzylorda was signed between the Ministry of Energy, Akimat of the Kyzylorda region and JV Kazgermunai LLP.
The cooperation is aimed at stimulating investments in the gas industry and increasing the production of liquefied petroleum gas for further supplies and meeting the needs of the Kyzylorda region.
