I International Summit of Green parties "ARAL – 2024" was held in Turkestan. Leaders of Green parties and nature lovers from Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan gathered at the Samit. They discussed the issues of rehabilitation of the affected island territory, effective use of water resources of transboundary rivers, widespread use of water-saving technologies, resistance to climatic changes, and discussed ways to jointly solve environmental problems. The head of state also stressed the importance of the decisions taken by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to protect the Aral Sea and the Taza Kazakhstan initiative, which will give impetus to the formation of ecological culture.
Chairman of the Baitak Green Party of Kazakhstan Azamatkhan Amirtayev noted that water security is the most urgent issue in Central Asia. Chairman of the Green Party of Kyrgyzstan Yerkin Bulekbayev, co-chairman of the Green Party of Russia Alexandra Kudzagova, Deputy Chairman of the Green Party of Mongolia "Civil will" Togoochiyn Bat-Erdene, representative of the Environmental Party of Uzbekistan Komiljon Zhurayev also expressed their views at the summit.
During the summit, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Green parties of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia and Mongolia. In particular, the parties agreed on the implementation of environmental measures, joint expansion of environmental education and propaganda among the population, as well as the exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of Environmental Protection and use of Natural Resources. At the same time, the leaders of the Green parties agreed to hold a significant summit on a permanent basis.
The end of the international summit was followed by a solemn meeting dedicated to the 2nd anniversary of the founding of the Baitak party. Deputy akim of Turkestan region Ertay Altayev took a special part and conveyed the warm words of the head of the region. In addition, he thanked the "Baitak" Green Party for organizing the international summit.
- In Turkestan region, the program "Taza Kazakhstan", initiated on behalf of the president, is being actively implemented. This year, a total of 1 million trees were planted on the territory of the region. 30 thousand hectares of land are planned to create a green belt around the city of Turkestan, and trees are currently being planted on the territory. All these works are large-scale. One of our main goals is to improve the environmental situation of our country, including our region. We are making efforts to effectively use water resources, develop saving technologies to prevent water shortages. We hope that today's international summit will have a positive impact on improving the environmental situation not only in Central Asia, the Aral Sea, but also in the Turkestan region. We are ready to work together in this direction, – the deputy akim of the region handed the guests from abroad a souvenir "Taikazan", a symbol of prosperity and unity of the entire Turkic people.
